How to Create and Publish a Mobile App?

The app craze is in full swing these days, and everybody’s getting on board to try to turn their idea into the next big hit. If you have an app idea of your own, there’s no time like the present to turn your idea into reality.

You could be sitting on the next Instagram or Angry birds, and you’ll never know how successful it could be if you don’t bring it to life.

First, of course, you’ll need an idea. It’s probably best to start small. Some of the most popular apps are shockingly simple, and apps that are too complicated don’t always take off because they’re more difficult to use.

Try to come up with an idea that does one specific thing very well, or if your idea is a game, make it something unique and uncluttered. Decide whether you want to improve on an existing concept or develop something totally new.

Next, find your aesthetic. Besides being useful, you want your app to be attractive. If your page layout is ugly and impossible to read, your app will have a very hard time gaining popularity.

Get out the pen and paper or take to your design program of choice to figure out how you want everything to look. Get input on your layout from friends. When you spend a lot of time working on something, it gets harder to see the big picture. A fresh perspective will be illuminating.

Now it’s time for development. If you’re savvy enough with computers and programming, you might be able to do this yourself.

Someone who has never heard of a programming language, however, would be unwise to start their foray into the world of coding here. Programming can be very complicated and tedious work, especially for beginners.

Luckily for you, and for the rest of us, there are plenty of people who are very well versed in programming and many of them are for hire.

By hiring a professional developer you can cut out the hassle of programming and debugging your app all alone, and get things rolling much quicker. Naturally, developers don’t work for free and they’re not cheap either.

An average priced developer will typically charge between $5,000 and $10,000 to build an app. Simpler apps will tend to be less expensive because they are easier to program, another reason to avoid getting too complicated.

It’s a bit of an investment, but hiring an app builder could be one way to go.

Now it’s time to think about pricing and selling. You want to be reasonable in your pricing. Think about how much you would pay for this app. Would you buy it for $2? $3?

How much less likely would you be to buy it if it cost $5? Poll your friends as well. Pricing can be a major determining factor in an app’s popularity.

After everything is done and figured out, it’s time to submit your work to the app store. Once it’s approved, you can start marketing your app to increase awareness and popularity.

Social networking sites and word of mouth are great tools in app marketing. Get the word out and watch your app blow up!
